Morning Worship

Silent Prayer and Apostolic Greeting

1 Corinthians 1:3

Call to Worship

Psalm 9:1-2

Hymn of Adoration

All Glory Laud and Honor (Trinity Hymnal #235)

Confession of Sin

Heavenly Father, who is rich in grace and abundant in mercy, we humbly approach you this morning to confess our many and persistent sins. You have promised to strengthen us by your Spirit, but we strive to sustain ourselves. You have promised us knowledge and wisdom in Christ, but we doubt your Word and your truth. You have promised to fill us with your fullness of your love, but in fear we pretend contentment in the things of this world. Forgive us of our sins. Strengthen the weakness of our faith, transform the doubts of our hearts and minds, and fill us with your unfailing love and inexhaustible goodness according to the riches of your glory. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

Romans 8:14-17

Confession of Faith

Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made; who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried; and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father; and he shall come again, with glory, to judge both the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets; and we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church; we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and of the life of the world to come. Amen.

Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father
And to the Son
And to the Holy Ghost
As it was in the beginning
Is now and ever shall be
World without end, Amen.

Prayer of Supplication & Lord’s Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

What is the Chief End of Man?

Man's chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.

Read the Westminster Shorter Catechism

What Is My Only Comfort in Life and Death?

That I am not my own, but belong–body and soul, in life and in death–to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.

He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil.

He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven: in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.

Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.
