The Gospel in Farmington, Maine

The people of Maine are in desperate need of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. According to research by Pew, only 14% of the population identify as Evangelical Christians. In contrast, 24% of the population admits that they believe “nothing in particular.”

It is within this context that the Gospel of Jesus Christ powerfully speaks truth, hope, and peace into the lives of the residents of the greater Farmington area.

Grace Reformed Presbyterian began when a group of like-minded Christians started meeting for a Bible study in 2013. Today, GRPC is a mission work of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

We exist to worship God, our Creator and Redeemer; to build up the Body of Christ though biblical teaching and regular weekly worship; and to proclaim the free offer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people in Farmington and surrounding areas.

Micah and Eileen BickfordMicah Bickford grew up in Maine, just south of Farmington. Micah’s journey towards pastoral ministry began when he heard a chapel message as a freshman in college that called men to pursue pastoral ministry. From that point on, God’s calling and providence has worked to bring Micah to serve as pastor of Grace Reformed Presbyterian Church in Farmington, Maine.

After college, Micah earned an M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary. Micah was ordained as the church planting pastor of Grace Reformed Presbyterian Church in 2021 by the Presbytery of New York and New England of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

Micah and his wife, Eileen, have three children. Together, they enjoy exploring God’s beautiful creation in all four seasons.

What is the Chief End of Man?

Man's chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.

Read the Westminster Shorter Catechism

What Is My Only Comfort in Life and Death?

That I am not my own, but belong–body and soul, in life and in death–to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.

He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil.

He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven: in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.

Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.
